Where do you get your fashion fix in London? Joseph's multi-brand boutique in Fulham Road for an excellent edit on British designers. What are your favourite London restaurants, and what do you order there? HK Diner on Wardour Street for post-late-night alcohol binge eating, Imperial China in Chinatown for their roast duck and pancakes and Chiltern Firehouse not for the food but for the people spotting! If you could choose one person to show you “their London” who would it be and why? I'd probably pick Katie Grand. What was your favourite thing to do during LFW? Exhaust myself by spending a whole day watching shows especially from young designers and then immediately go back to Sanderson hotel for a relaxing session in my tub and feast on room service. If you wanted people to walk away with one thing from Bryan Boy, what would it be? It's my second season in London Fashion Week believe it or not! I love it because London is certainly the ultimate place where young designers have the creative freedom to remain true to their vision without commercial restraints You were recently in London for fashion week staying at the Sanderson, tell us about it? I live my life and share a small part of what happens to my readers. I try to remain true to myself regardless of what my followers think. You have a massive following online do you think this affects your final product? Without commercial activities, I wouldn't be able to travel the world, meet interesting people or have unique experiences that I share to my readers. It is a business now, yes, but in return, this enabled me to give more to my readers. What does it mean to you now that blogging has become a creative business? Bring your readers to a different place using your voice! Be inspired and inspire other people in return! Don't hold yourself back and remain true to your vision. No one should follow another person's footsteps! My main advice really is to have a unique point of view. Sadly, nowadays, in the age of social media and instant gratification, people no longer keep blogs to share stories- most start blogs as a platform to be discovered and/or use blogs as a stepping stone to launch other careers.Īny advice for young bloggers who would like to follow in your creative footsteps? When I first started my site, storytelling was the main purpose of having a blog. They really know how to fine-tune personal style with subtle details.Īs a pioneer to fashion blogging what are some changes you have seen over the last few years? Their aesthetic is very modern and minimal. Swedes are not only good-looking but they certainly know how to dress well. Having a Swedish boyfriend (for almost five years) gave me a reason to visit the city often - and I find that place inspirational fashion-wise. You travel all around the world, what is your favorite city for fashion inspiration and why? I wanted to create an online diary for friends and family to keep track of my whereabouts. I started my blog as a travel journal when I went to Moscow, Russia in late 2004. Where did the inspiration behind Bryan Boy first come from?
